Cost, Credits, and Financial Aid
You pay the regular TUITION and FEES of your home school, so in most cases the cost is exactly the same as if you were on campus. The only exception is if your school doesn’t allow you to take your financial aid package with you while in Pittsburgh. See below for details on your school.
You get 15 CREDITS for the semester, including nine for the classes (9 hours/week), and six for the internship (20 hours/week).
Bluffton University: Pittsburgh Semester fulfills "Issues in Modern America," your cross-cultural requirement, and three Arts and Lecture Event Credits.
Geneva College: Pittsburgh Semester fulfills Humanities 304.
Malone College: Pittsburgh Semester fulfills "Faith in the World" and your cross-cultural requirement.
Waynesburg University: Pittsburgh Semester fulfills a wide range of requirements (in both gen ed and your major). See Dr. Jeff Kisner for details.
FINANCIAL AID depends on your home institution:
Bluffton University: All your financial aid travels with you when you attend Pittsburgh Semester. However, this may not apply if you have already spent a semester off campus. See your off-campus representative for details.
Geneva College: All of your state and federal aid travels with you as well as 50 percent of your aid from Geneva. Additional scholarships also may be available for off-campus study. Contact Ann Burkhead or Nancy Pelaia in the Crossroads office for details.
Malone College: All your financial aid travels with you when you attend Pittsburgh Semester. However, this may not apply if you have already spent a semester off campus. See Patty Long for details.
Waynesburg University: All state and federal aid, plus all scholarships that come from outside Waynesburg (such as Bonner Scholarships), travels with you. In addition, five students per year can take all of their Waynesburg aid with them. See Dr. Jeff Kisner for details.
